CRISTINA LOPEZ VERGARA

Professional Counselor Associate

Cristina Lopez Vergara is a mental health associate who works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the lasting impact of stress and trauma. She supports clients who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves or others, or unsure how their past experiences are shaping their present.

Cristina brings experience working with diverse populations across a range of settings, including intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), refugee and immigrant services, crisis intervention, and school-based environments from early childhood through highschool. She is especially attuned to how culture, family systems, identity, and intergenerational experiences influence emotional well-being and relationship patterns.

In therapy, Cristina prioritizes safety, collaboration, and the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for healing. She integrates relational psychodynamic approaches with practical, skills-based and stabilization-focused interventions, tailoring her work to each client’s needs, values, and goals. Her style is warm, grounded, and direct, supporting clients in building insight, resilience, and a stronger sense of self.

Cristina is fluent in both English and Spanish and is deeply committed to increasing access to culturally affirming, trauma-informed mental health care. She strives to create a supportive and inclusive space where clients feel seen, respected, and empowered.
